You can switch to the class specific to the item to check the Cube, but that’s a hassle – especially if you’re playing with a team that wants to keep GRifting. You can grab all your special materials and throw them into the Cube with the legendary in question to see if you’ll get the message that the ability has already been extracted – though, this assumes that you have all the materials and haven’t burned through them trying to reforge a different legendary.Notice the lack of Salvation for the Demon Hunter… er the item that is

You think you might have extracted this legendary’s special ability (the orange text) into the Kanai’s Cube, but was it this season or last season? However, since you’re not playing the class specific to the legendary in question (in this case the Crusader class), you can’t see if the item has already been extracted just by looking at the Cube. So you’re playing the latest season in Diablo III Reaper of Souls and you’ve just killed a Greater Rift Guardian, opened those Horadric and bonus caches (the stack you’ve been saving until all the bounties were completed), or finished cleaning up the area after activating a Bandit Shrine and you find a legendary item for different class than the one you’re currently using.
